• Plus Plan (₹399/month): 200 queries/month, all response modes including Detailed, Web Legal Research, Temp Chat, voice input, 25 MB uploads, 50 documents, 1-year chat history, and priority support.
• Premium Plan (₹699/month): unlimited queries/month, everything in Plus, 100 MB uploads, unlimited documents, forever chat history, advanced OCR, and dedicated support.

Question 7

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

You can change your plan anytime from Settings > Plans in your dashboard. When you upgrade, the change takes effect immediately and your queries are refreshed to the new plan's allowance. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not lose access to any data when changing plans, though some features may become restricted.

What are queries and how do they work?

Queries are the units that power your AI interactions on NyayGuru. Every time you send a question to the AI, one query is deducted from your queries balance. Your queries balance reset at the start of each monthly billing cycle at midnight IST. Free users get 100 queries/month with a limit of 10/day max, Plus users get 200, and Premium users get unlimited queries.

How is query usage calculated?

Each question you ask, the AI uses 1 query from your queries balance. Document uploads, greetings, and clarification messages do not consume any queries. The AI automatically picks the best response depth based on your question complexity.

What happens when I run out of queries?

Accepted Answer

When your queries are exhausted, you won't be able to send new questions until your queries reset at the start of the next billing cycle. You can: (1) Wait for the monthly reset, or (2) Upgrade to a higher plan for more queries. You can still access your existing chats, documents, and notes without queries.

Do unused queries roll over to the next month?

No, unused queries do not carry forward. Your query balance resets to your plan's full allowance at the start of each billing cycle (midnight IST on the 1st). This applies to all plans: Free, Plus, and Premium.

• Auto: The AI automatically picks the best mode based on your question complexity (default for all users).

• Detailed: Comprehensive analysis with case law citations and full legal reasoning. Ideal for research.

All modes use 1 query per question. Free plan users use Auto mode. Plus and Premium users can manually select any mode.

Temporary Chat (also called Privacy Chat) is a private chat mode where no conversation data is stored on our servers. Once you close a Temp Chat session, the conversation is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. This is ideal for sensitive legal queries where you want maximum privacy. Yes, you can export any chat conversation for your records. Free users can export chats as TXT files. Plus and Premium users can export in TXT, Word (DOCX), and PDF formats. You can also share chats via a public shareable link.

Supported file types include PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP, XLS, XLSX, and CSV. Scanned PDFs and images are processed with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to extract text.

File size limits by plan:
• Free: 5 MB per file, up to 10 documents total
• Plus: 25 MB per file, up to 50 documents total
• Premium: 100 MB per file, unlimited documents

How does OCR work for scanned documents?

When you upload a scanned PDF or image, NyayGuru automatically detects that the document does not contain selectable text and processes it through OCR (Optical Character Recognition). How long is my chat history retained?

• Free: 30 days. After 30 days of inactivity, chats become archived (view-only).

Archived chats can still be read and exported, but you cannot send new messages in them. Upgrading your plan restores full access to archived chats.
